The TUMI women’s outerwear collection was a newly launched project, and took inspiration from the needs of the global traveler seeking exceptional style, performance, and function. I was the lead designer for women’s outerwear, and I managed all aspects of design and product development including concepting, sourcing, design, prototyping, user testing, technical design, and fittings.

Process and Prototyping
Care was taken designing every detail of TUMI outerwear. Luxury materials were sourced including fabric, leather and shearling from Italy and Japan. All trims were carefully designed for both style and function. Details were meticulously documented in tech packs, and prototypes were fit and tested to ensure a perfect fit. Teams in design, product development, production, and at factories partnered to ensure the exceptional quality standards of TUMI were upheld.
